This week, we are excited to unveil a new Shelfie queue. The queue is the list of Shelfies you’ve taken using BitLit. You can find it in the Shelfie tab. It’s in the latest version of BitLit in the iOS App Store and on Google Play. (Android users actually got a sneak peek of the new design last month.)
The design for the new queue was guided by your feedback. When we launched Shelfie, we tried to make the app as simple as possible. No muss, no fuss.
But it turns out that you wanted MORE information. We got a lot of requests from users asking about their Shelfies! What bookshelves were done processing? Which books were missed when you took a Shelfie? And of course, where on my bookshelf is the book eligible for a free ebook?
The new queue design gives you feedback on each Shelfie image. Just tap on the Shelfie and hit INFO. If you’re not happy with your Shelfie, you can retake it right there by pressing RETAKE. Want to see if our fancy computer vision algorithms got all of your books right? Hit BOOKS. If a book wasn’t correctly identified tap on the spine and send it back so our algorithms can go at it again.
Another update to the app is a push notification when your Shelfie is finished processing. You’ll now get a notification once all of your shelfie images are finished processing.
We hope you like the new queue for Shelfie, but feedback is always welcome (good or bad). We have some ideas for our next iteration, but we need your guidance too. Is anything missing? What could make the app more intuitive? Let us know at [email protected]
